The western blotting involves the transfer of electrophoresed proteins from the gel to Nitrocellulose membrane. The HRP conjugated antibody is then added to the membrane. Substrate is added to the enzyme conjugate for the deduction of antibodies.

MEDOX-BIOTM Isoelectricfocusing And 2D Gel Electrophoesis Teaching Kit

Isoelectric focusing is a novel technique of separating proteins based on their Isoelectric points(pI), when the proteins are subjected to electrophoresis in a pH gradient. The proteins are separated on the basis of their pH , the pH at which the protein has no net charge and hence does not migrate in an electric field.
First dimension- is electrofocusing, separates proteins based on isoelectric points in tube gel.
Second dimension-is SDS-PAGE resolves the first dimensionally separated proteins into different peptides on its size basis.

Features & Application
* Coomassie blue staining method used to detect more than 50-100ug of proteins.
* Widely useful method for the analysis of complex mixture of proteins extracted from cells, tissues

MEDOX-BIOTM Preparation Of Biotinylated Probes By nick Translation Teaching Kit

This kit enables student to study the process of nick translation by E.Coli DNA polymerase I. The 5' 3' exonuclease activity enables this enzyme to initiate synthesis from nicks in duplex DNA. The 5' 3' exonuclease degrades DNA ahead of synthesizing polymerase resulting in translocation of the nick. This is the basis of labeling by nick translation.
