MEDOX-BIOTM Total RNA Extraction Teaching Kit

This kit is designed to extract total RNA from tissues by using phenol based RNA isolation solution. Samples are homogenized with RNA isolation solution, then phenol chloroform is mixed with lysate and this mixture is separated into aqueous and organic phase by centrifugation. RNA is precipitated from the aqueous phase using isopropyl alcohol.

Features & Application
* This kit performs well even with small quantities of tissues.
* The RNA thus obtained can be used in downstream applications like Northern Blot, Molecular cloning.

MEDOX-BIOTM Plant RNA Isolation Teaching Kit

RNA extraction involves cell lysis, separation of RNA from Proteins, DNA and other cell debris and precipitation of RNA. Plant cells are lysed using Solution-I (RNA extraction solution) and solubilize their components and denature endogenous RNase simultaneously. The RNA is separated using solution- II (RNA Present in the aqueous phase) and Precipitated using the Solution-III (Isopropyl alcohol)

MEDOX-BIOTM Total RNA Extraction Teaching Kit (FROM YEAST)

This Kit will allow isolate enough total RNA from yeast to label for our Lab experiments. There are five basic steps.1.Growing the yeast cells,2. Preparing yeast spheroplasts, 3. Preparing yeast RNA, 4. Determining the concentration of yeast RNA, 5. Checking the RNA for degradation using gel electrophoresis. Preparing Yeast cells by, Making Spheroplasts, Yeast contains a hard cell wall. Sphreroplasts are yeast cell wall has been enzymatically degraded. These spheroplasts are very fragile so must be careful with them. Once the cells have spheroplasts, it will be very easy to lyse the yeast cells and quickly release the RNA and proteins in the cell into a controlled environment. Isolating the RNA, The RNA isolation kit will be done using safe, solution I and solution II contain ions and detergents that will inactivate cellular RNases that are released when lyse the cells. Eventually spin the mixture down and get rid of all of the proteins in the solution and the 900ul, it should contain mainly nucleic acids.

MEDOX-BIOTM Northern Blotting Teaching Kit

Northern blotting technique is used to identify the integrity of the RNA and their transfer efficiency to the transfer nitrocellulose membrane. In this technique RNA samples are first separated by electrophoresis in an agarose gel under denaturing condition, RNA is then transferred to a membrane and cross linked and the transferred RNA can be detected by northern hybridization method.
